Wednesday Off-ternoon – what’s next?

7th Jan 2019

2018 was a very exciting year for Kin&Co with lots of new clients, new superstar team members and of course, a whole load of fun and games! And things certainly didn’t slow down towards the end of the year as I’m sure many of you will have seen with the official launch of…*drum roll*…Wednesday Off-ternoon!

The campaign, backed by Gail Kinman, Professor of Occupational Health Psychology and expert in work-life balance, got off to a flying start. It has already been featured in The Guardian, as well as in some top-notch HR titles including HR Magazine, HR Grapevine and HR Review. And that’s not all – we also got a fantastic mention on BBC Radio 2’s Jeremy Vine show from Jonathan Bartley, leader of the Green Party.

Our research of 500 business owners found that 80% believed having Wednesday afternoon off could significantly improve productivity, while 72% of businesses said they were open to trialling it immediately. This certainly reflected what we saw when we launched the campaign, with a whole range of businesses joining the movement in the first week alone!

So, what’s next? We are on a mission to fix the way the world works and to make Wednesday Off-ternoon the norm for business. That’s why over the coming months, we will be hosting a series of events and workshops to share our tips and tricks on how you can make Wednesday Off-ternoon a reality for your organisation – without cutting salaries or lunch breaks.

We will be announcing our first workshop date very soon so watch this space!

The workshop will bring together different businesses who want to implement at 4.5 day week with a break on Wednesday afternoon, whilst still getting the very best from their team.

We’ll be sharing lots more information about the workshop and what to expect in the coming weeks but make sure you sign up here so you don’t miss an update.

Here’s to a great year ahead and we can’t wait to work together to transform the way we work – one business at a time.
