We are currently on the lookout for a passionate, ambitious Head of Operations / Associate Director to join our core team in our (sometimes) sunny, (always) fun office in the land of overpriced hipster coffees, Old Street.

About the role
The role is a hybrid between service delivery at Associate Director level, and leading the operations delivery of the business, as Head of Operations. Working alongside the CEO as a strategic partner, you will be responsible for both core operational management (legal, finance, people, internal workstreams) and the ability to translate vision and strategy into a road map with clear objectives and milestones. Pragmatic, calm and with a ruthless attention to detail, you will enjoy codifying ways of working into systems and processes. Then, finding creative and supportive ways to ensure these systems are used and enjoyed, ensuring that Kin&Co scales without losing quality control, profitability or our distinctive culture. You’ll constantly be on the lookout for new ideas, approaches and improvements to make the company run more efficiently and effectively.

Leadership

  • Work with CEO and Chair to translate vision and strategy into clear objectives and action plan
  • Evaluate and monitor progress against action plan, with accountability for the company workstream oversight tool and targets
  • Proactively source and create interventions and ideas, constantly improving systems and processes to achieve results
  • Play a key cultural role in the team, modelling the values and Quality Stamp, and being a highly positive role model
  • Ensuring people are motivated, happy and that they know exactly what they are individually accountable for achieving, and that they have the resources and support to execute effectively

Operations

  • Work with the CEO to codify our ways of working into brilliant, simple but effective systems and processes. Critically, to then ensure these systems don’t just sit in folders but are helping, not hindering the team and being used, as living breathing parts of the culture
  • With the support of professionals when needed, ensuring that all legal requirements are being fulfilled including contracts and policies
  • Work with the CEO to be accountable for Kin&Co’s finances, supported by a finance assistant and our accountants, presenting to the Board and ensuring we are on track to hit budget targets – flagging issues early and being prepared with solutions
  • Manage finance support team to execute monthly payments and ensure robust systems are in place
  • Prepare documents to report on the operations (finance, people, legal, workstreams) to the Board of Directors and Board of Advisors
  • Overseeing the internal team as they deliver their owned Kin&Co workstreams (training, marketing, partnerships, events etc)
  • Managing our resourcing tool to ensure the team’s time is accurately spread across projects – and working with Alex to bring in Associates from the network to bolster and support on relevant projects
  • Managing systems to ensure that all Kin&Co’s projects are being delivered on time, within profit margins and to the highest, award winning quality in line with the Quality Stamp

  • Overseeing individual client projects in an Associate Director role where necessary, across Find, Live and Communicate services
